JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY

Jahangirnagar university is one of the largest and best university of Bangladesh. It was established by the Pakistan Government in1970. At fast the name of Jahangirnagar University was Jahangirnagar Muslim University. But after the victory the name of this university was changed by Jahangirnagar University. Jahangirnagar university is situated at the north side of Dhaka at Savar. It is away from the capital city of bangladesh (Dhaka). It is about 32 kilometer away from Dhaka. The university is situated with a huge area. It is about 697.56 acres (2.8 km squire).

Faculties: There are about 6 faculties in jahangirnagar University. They are:-

1. Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Science,

2. Faculty of Biological Science,

3. Faculty of Social Science,

4. Faculty of Arts and Humanities,

5. Faculty of Business Studies and

6. Faculty of Law.

There are about 35 departments under this 6 departments and some of these are so better than any other university of Bangladesh.

Hall facilities: There are 15 halls in Jahangirnagar university. 8 is for male students and 7 is for female students.

Male students halls are-

1. All Beruni hall,

2. Rabindranath hall,

3. Mir Mosharrof Hossain hall,

4. Shaheed Salam Barkat hall,

5. Bangabandhu Sheih Mujibur Rahman hall,

6. Shahid Rafiq Jabbar hall,

7. A.F.M. Kamaluddin hall and

8. Moulana Bhashani hall.

Female students halls are:-

1. Nawab Faizunnesa hall,

2. Jahanara Imam hall,

3. Begum Khaleda Zia hall,

4. Sufia Kamal hall,

5. Fajilatunnesa hall,

6. Pritilata hall and

7. Sheikh Hasina hall.

Library facility:

Jahangirnagar university has big library with having a lot of books. The whole area of the library is covered with WI-FI technology. There are more than 110,000 books in this library with having 14,000 hard journal and 11,000 online journal contains. More than 170 students can easily sit here and read books. There are some formalities to get a book from the library by the authority of the university.

Cafeteria: There is cafeteria at the front side of the university. The students can get in the cafeteria at the hole time of a day. 

Admission Facility: If anyone wants to admit here, he should remain some formalities. First of all he should have some education facilities. The students should give a admission test. A student need minimum 3.5 points in his intermediate examination. Then the students should give a admission test. In this university for every department students should attend in different examination. There are different quota for both male and female students. They are defined by fixed sit for male and female students. There is no different for the foreign students.

Ranking: The rank for this university is growing day by day and there some specialized department in this university, those are very famous in Bangladesh. For whole university Jahangirnagar university's rank is at 6th position and for world ranking this university is at 3372th position. Department of "Pharmacy and It" is at the best position in all Bangladeshi universities.

Summary: There are a lot of opportunities in this university for the student's who reads in Jahangirnagar university. There are some institutes under this university where a lot of students read in. So it can be called that it is one of the greatest university of Bangladesh.
